Did I break another promise?
Words are powerful
I learned that when I was little
You have to be careful of what you say
Especially when you talk about your feelings
I promised myself that I would never lie
With using words
To describe my feelings
Because I learned that it hurts in the end
Even though I just met you
The words just always seemed right
They felt good to say to you
And I can’t tell if it is a lie
Maybe it is just another promise broken
Or maybe it isn’t
Maybe the words are true
And I just don’t want to admit the truth
The words always felt right with you
From the first day I met you
But these words
Are some of the most powerful ones
They describe a beautiful feeling
One that may never go away
One that might take time to feel
Or maybe it is just at first sight
Why these words feel right
Is an answer I may never get
But I will continue to tell you that
I love you

Hi my name is Kayla and I am 15 years old. I love poetry and love writing it. The poem is about how I made a promise to myself not to lie to someone else about my feelings and how I can’t tell if I broke it or not by telling someone that I love them.
