Dark waters
We were both floating
on top of the ocean
at one point in time
if a big wave came
and dragged me under
you would take my hand
and let me breathe once again
if a wave
dragged us both under
we would get back up together
and laugh
but little did I know
that was the past
this time you grasped my hand
and pulled me down beneath
the dark water
and this time I couldn’t get back up
