Our New Lover
Money is what was we share
We toss it around
And will not care
But we listen to hear the sound
Of jingling coins in our pocket
Always afraid to lose
So we lock it
In a safe we choose
Some worthless some a fortune
It makes us go mad
Some even importuned
It’s really quite sad
To touch a bill
That may have been the president’s
Of course we will all kill
For it, but now it has a new resident
Some save, others spend
Or leave it in our pocket
Then the one who always needs us to lend
But we’ve just made a deposit
Here’s an idea, get a loan
Goes to the casino, make a bet
Losing you’ve never outgrown
Crap, now you’re in debt
Gives us different jobs
Some give more than others
This is why we rob
Money is now our new lover
