Bantu knots twisted,

Locs,

Afros with lots of curls,

Twists,

Box Braids that reach the floor,

Afro Puffs,

This is all culture.

Bonnets,

Headwraps and their diversity,

Kaftans,

Dashikis and their flowiness,

Kabas,

Durags,

Yoruba Clothes in their elegance,

Boubou Clothes,
Kente Patterned Clothes with lots of color

Ankara Clothing.

This is all culture.

The Merengue that was built up from African and European Minuet,

The Bachata,

Salve and Gaga,

This is all culture,

The Taino Culture,

The West African Culture,

The Arawak Culture,

This is all the culture that has built up to being dominican.

Nappy Hair,

More Melanin,

Less Melanin,

Glowing skin,

You are the culture,

And it will never be stolen by some culture vultures.

As a dominican, I had put lots of my heart and soul into this poem. I am proud to be a dominican.

Wow! As a Dominican I think this is so incredibly beautiful!
