"Why is it that the words we write for ourselves are better than the words we write for others?" -Finding Forrester

Come forth,

You strong and steady Soldier

And embrace the last days of the leaf-fall.

Let the footfalls you leave disappear

Under the cotton-colored particles

That evaporate from existence the moment your heat touches them.

Carry on-

With your stoic and frost-encased heart-

Protect those from your sudden chills.

But keep the cycle of Life continuous

And let your calculated gaze

Determine the fate of those that cower from you.

As the Soldier you are never subtle in your advances.

Icy blue and periwinkle and inky black-

Symbols of your carnage.

Left behind as your sweeping cape moves on.

In the shadow of your death and decay

Life begins anew.

One of four poems that I wrote for English when we were going over Romantic poetry.

If you've read all four of them, did you find the hidden meaning? (looking at you, Bumble :D)
