Summer
Child of the Sun
Of the fireflies that dance in the tall grass
And the vast crystal blue ocean teeming with life.
Connect the blinding lights into images of your design
And mold the stars in your mind to give them meaning.
Give them names and form them into Constellations on a clear night.
Your fiery passion enraptures all that bask in it
And your laughter bubbles up- Infectious-
Like the running brook cutting through your shaded and verdant woods.
The Sun shifts in your presence.
It becomes shadowed by your blinding smile of innocence
By the Wild Thing prancing through the emerald glades.
Your shift from blossoms and rain to sun and beaches is seamless
Like it was always meant to be.
And it is.
You starborne Child of the forest and Sun
Grasping the edges of the new-leaf season
And cultivating it in your unblemished and pure hands.
