Fall's Slumber
windshield wipers
spread their wings across the glass-
brushing off everything
to the wind
burning flames
streamed by in bonfires
of dancing leaves
as feast for the eyes
tires screeched on
the gravel asphalt road-
within the birch forest
slender fingers reached for the sky
a grasp for the past
that clings on a hinging thread-
severed off by slumber,
covered within frost
the road crawls onward
in gusts of dust
as windblown seeds
drowned in leaves
