Me.. Truly Me
“Me”
I feel myself slipping from who I was before;
Once I was a frightened freshman, but now I’m an outgoing sophomore.
Sometimes I just stop and wonder;
Is who I am now really me..?
Me,
I’m anything from a writer to a bubbly girl named bumblebee.
Me,
I’m anything from someone who worries all night to someone who looks carefree.
Me,
I’m anything from making plans to be the President of my FFA Chapter, to someone who feels like a nobody.
How do I know who I truly am?
Is there any way to know that isn’t a scam?
I tend to be a people pleaser; pretending to be somebody else who they like more,
I’m scared that if I’m not that, all they will do is leave and ignore.
Sometimes it feels like I wear a mask,
Which feels like a heavy burden, as well as a task.
Feeling sad, mad, or even anxious shouldn’t have to be hidden out of sight,
These things make me who I am, and that makes me shine bright.
