"Women, they have minds, and they have souls, as well as just hearts. And they’ve got ambition, and they’ve got talent, as well as just beauty. I’m so sick of people saying that love is all a woman is fit for.”<br /> <br /> ― Louisa May Alcott, Little Women

only a crystal ball seen in the dark

yet the lonely girl finds it remark

every night she cranes her head high

in hope one day she will say goodbye

to the world in which is known to hide

because she doesn’t let others see her true inside

she found hope in the bright crescent moon

for she won’t be alone much longer soon

The author's comments:

I wrote this poem when I felt like I was the only person on Earth and no one noticed me. The meaning and purpose of this poem is to show how I can sympathize with the moon. That being we both are alone.

“The apple doesn't fall far from the tree." I guess that means we're just products of whoever made us and we don't have much control. The thing is, when people use that phrase, they ignore the most critical part: the falling. Within the logic of that saying, the apple falls every single time. Not falling isn't an option. So, if the apple has to fall, the most important question in my mind is what happens to it upon hitting the ground? Does it touch down with barely a scratch? Or does it smash on impact? Two vastly different fates. When you think about it, who cares about its proximity to the tree or what type of tree spawned it? What really makes all the difference, then, is how we land.”<br /> ― Val Emmich, Dear Evan Hansen

You captivate me with your words as well as only one other I've met in this world. Please keep writing and inspiring me as well as others. Youve found the writers seed as well, hold it and let it grow as you do.

"A writer must never be short of ideas."<br /> -Gabriel Agreste- (Fictional character- Miraculous)

@AutumnLauray, this is a really beautiful as well as a relatable poem...You literally rocked your first piece in TeenInk...
And I also read your interests...Even I love Little women...It is such a great book and I also love the relationships of the sisters(especially Jo)...Jo is somewhat related to me...First, I liked Meg because she was the eldest(and I too am the eldest) but as I read further, Jo became my favourite character...
