There’s a staircase in Doorham

that nobody goes up

and nobody goes down

because it doesn’t exist—

only whispering memories.

It only exists when you sit on the roof

on New Years’ Eve

with a bottle of beer

and a little pink balloon,

Remembering.

A journal blerb...a spark of an idea. What does it mean? I don't know. I wrote a story about a  people who live on a mysterious staircase, which may explain this poem.

oh floof! i just wrote a poem and published it and it was about discrimination against my church. in the sidenote i said it was in a book and I was just rayin when I realized you would think I meant you. floof, sorry. i should have clarified: it was a published book by an adult that was entirely about stigma and full of anti-church sentiment(based on 2 reviews, one by someone who supported it and seemed to have little or no church exposure and the other by a Jewish man living in utah with loads of lds friends and neighbors and coworkers who has a lot of respect for the church. ). it wasn't your book and I really hope you see this before it goes thru and you maybe read it. soooo sorry if it comes across that way. i wasn't talking about anyone on ti, let alone you.
