Nick's Graduation
I make my way through
The gymnasium room
Through a small door
In the other room, which I didn’t notice before
Were treadmills lined
Up; all gray and waiting to grind
Into exercise
The gymnasium room remains vast
With various students shuffling past
They are all wearing onyx colored gowns and caps
The cap’s strings bouncing in slow laps
My brother Nick is among
Them; waiting along
To recieve
The diploma that will be achieved
Name after name is called
Out; installed
Based on area of study and last name
Alphabetized; ordered as if a number frame
The audience and I had to refrain
From clapping; until the end is obtained
The time dragged on
Like a chain upon
A floor…
Finally, the caps were thrown upward!
Signaling the end, along with clustered
Applause and cheers
Which echoed through my ears
The graduation has finally ended
Time to take some pictures; splendid!
