I Didn't Want It

I said "No."

Loudly.

You ignored it.

You shouldn't have been there,

it was the ladies' room, after all.

You didn't care.

Didn't care that I was afraid.

Didn't care as you pinned me against the wall

and I started to cry.

Didn't care that I tried to escape

as you stripped me down and undid your jeans.

Didn't care that I trembled in fear

as you caressed my bare skin with cold hands.

Didn't care as you pressed inside me,

deeper and deeper,

until I started to bleed.

You didn't care that I was broken when you finished.

You didn't care because you got what you wanted.

Guess what.

I didn't.

And then,

you left and

I slid to the floor.

Tears streaked my face

as blood ran down my thighs.

But, eventually,

I got up.

I ditched my friends and I went home

where I cried myself to sleep.

I never thought you could be such a monster.

I was wrong.

This was a really traumatic event that happened when I was 14. I got a flashback of it for no reason the other day and decided to write about it.

If life were predictable it would cease to be life, and be without flavor.

It was so sad to hear that this happened to you but my friend you are being such an inspiration for others to speak up. Your poem gave me goosebumps!

I'm so sorry this happened to you, but just know that by being vulnerable through poetry, you are helping more people than you will ever know. It will all be okay in the end. Keep fighting!
