The Stump
It was a stage for the new president to make her speech,
It was a table for a family to talk and eat, and It was a
lifeguard station off the warm sand at the beach. When it
was a tree it was boring and incomplete, but it became a
house, a fort, and a desk to teach. It was a sad day when it
went away, Out of the ground, it was an octopus, autopsied and
ready to go, Driven away by pirates in great big orange and yellow vests.

This is predominately about imagination and how growing up can lessen the imagination and reality is forced to take over. Imagination is represented here by a stump that I used to play pretend on when I was a little kid.
