Writing- The Quenched Fire
Writing, the quenched fire
Has been defeated by the waters of Distraction and Desire
What a fool
Was the author, who always thought there had to be a rule
For everything; though creativity has once touched her heart
Making her write from the start
Flames once flickered in the mind
Ideas of knights and castles
Once weren’t hassles
But behold, inspiration has come!
For the author to paint her kingdom
Armed with the pencil sharper than any sword
Fights her way through the Land of Discord
“I’ve had enough of the desires,” the author declares, “Enough of the distractions!”
She shall not give in to the attractions
Of the world
The writer’s ability has been unfurled!
By the author’s command, the fire flickers out
From the ashes; without a singe of doubt
The fire grows; rapidly spreading
Writing shall no longer be what the author is dreading!
