The Only Way
They raise their guns, their swords, their weapons,
To protect, to save, and ensure
This is justice, they say;
Spilling the blood of innocent others,
Causing the cries of widowed mothers,
Watching the crimson syrup flow the streets,
Leaving thousands to weep and weep.
And why?
To show the world they still exist,
To show the world they wield the sword
“This is the only way”
Or so they say.
When they set the ragged homes ablaze,
A single mantra fuels their rage.
Its roots they lie so very deep,
With every move they make it speaks.
They watch the enemy writhe in pain,
Then remember, its for their gain.
We often wonder, how do they sleep?
Knowing their wounds go far beneath
“It’s the only way to make them pay.”
Or so they say.
