Fall and Winter
The trees groan in a knowing sound as the winds of the Earth wrap around them steadily
The trees groan in a knowing sound as the winds of the Earth wrap around them slowly
Their leaves feel the ripple of change in the season and begin to bloom thousands of colors
Their leaves feel the rippe of change in the season and start to decay in numbers
The colors consume the leaves, leaving in its wake stunning red, yellow, orange, and brown
The coldsnap consumes the leaves, leaving nothing but ghosts of what was once leaves
These colors show the birth of a new season, where the scent of apples finds the air
These leaves birth a new season, as the sky rains frozen tears, the smell of ginger fills the air
A season where pumpkins litter the ground in masses, collecting together in patches
A season when men made out of snow litter the ground in front of cozy little homes
A season, where the trees groan knowing sounds as the winds wrap around them steadily
A season where the trees grown knowing sounds as the winds wrap around them slowly

This poem is one that I enjoyed writing. This piece is simple but it has a lot of images it can create in someone's head. The layout of the poem may be confusing at first but, this is really two poems in one. The first line of the poem starts the first poem about fall, and the second line starts the second poem about winter. Every other line is how you read it. I do not know where I came up with idea, but it is something I found fun! It tells two stories about different times while using the same format.
