Just Talk to Me
Lately,
I've been missing
The sound of voices dancing in the air
And I crave something
A little more than silence.
So please,
Just talk to me.
I know the messy clumps of hair that hang
In front of my face may not seem very inviting,
But I'm begging you,
Just talk to me.
I know that I might just be the quiet girl
Who sits in the front of the classroom
And tries to keep her eyes hidden,
But that doesn't mean that I'm not
Dying to say something to you.
I don't even care what we talk about,
As long as I get to hear the
Sweet sound of your voice.
Just talk to me.
I know there are a lot of parts of me
That don't quite seem very pretty,
But I promise that if you dig a little deeper,
You can find something truly special.
Please.
Just talk to me.
Before the words I've always wanted
To say
Are choked back down.
Before it's too late.
Too late to tell you
How badly
I've wanted to talk to you.
All this time.
