I deserved a better goodbye.
After staying up until
Four in the morning
With you every night,
Telling each other
Things we'd never even
Said aloud before,
I thought I might have
Had a chance.
All the laughs,
The butterflies,
The memories,
And the happiness
I shared with you were
The best moments of my life.
You patched a piece of
My heart that I thought
I would never get back,
And yet,
I see you in her arms.
All the text messages
And goofy conversations
Stopped,
And you never even
Told me why.
And I swear to you,
I deserved a better goodbye.
