Cooking requires great concentration

Deep focus; without any penetration

The pan sizzles slightly; bubbling up

Like lava; cooking oil dripping as if syrup

Pieces of garlic and onion, after being shredded,

Lay still like snowflakes; amid the teariness threaded

From their thin, white coating

Sausage is added in; along with bell peppers and tomatoes

Tossed and peeled like potatoes

The food started the boil

Like salmon being tossed and coated in acidic, vinegar oil

I guide the wooden spoon; stirring and slightly turning

The foods; yet I’m yearning

For this task to be done; to have dinner ready

Yet, I should be patient; do it slow and steady

After a while of continuing; I grab the plates

To serve the food; now in their finished states
