Lazy Night

Shining from above me

A shimmering, glittering glory

Frozen in a heaven

Balancing day and night

Making me selfish enough to call it mine

Sleepily laying on the dark night sky

Wrapped up in a blanket of delight

Calling a name that may be mine

Seemingly drifting closer

Bringing a lovely hallucination over my eyes

Oh, how I long to be with you!

I sit thoughtfully

Smiling at my idiot mind

I finally solved the cruel trick you're playing

For how many years have I longed to be with you?

For I think I already am

As I wonder what the world was up to

As it created the stars before it created the man

As there wouldn't be a use for the stars if there wasn't man

Humans tried to understand the sky from the ancient ages

But know man never found out the secrets of the sky

We always poked and prodded it's edges

But never came to its cream

Maybe there was never a purpose for the humble being

What if the world was just being lazy?

We'll come and we'll go but we'll never know

What this silent night is up to each night
