Insanity
Insanity
me,
you,
us.
We feel our walls crumbling down
Piece by piece
And we just straighten them
They break,
shatter
We don’t know who we are
Thinking
Thoughts
Freedom
All put behind us
We shove them to the back
Not there,
gone
They vanish after time
Or we think
They are still there
Softly humming, “Let us out”
We do this to ourselves
Not him,
not her,
not them
Our minds clogged with bigotry and hate
A need to separate and classify
A desire to be the same
Insane
That is what I call us
Insanity runs wild
