A River
In our tubes, we cling
to each other, fearing we
will hit the rocks
And sink.
We latch hold, try to
talk, promise to never
let them
Go.
And then, as the river rounds
among itself, twisting
and turning
Interweaving
We let go,
without control,
we let go.
And never again,
do we see their face,
Though sometimes
in our dreams
