Humanity
Flames, surging, spreading, consuming,
Continent after continent engulfed.
So burns the fire of humanity,
Taking everything in its path.
One flame extinguished,
Reduced to nothing but ash,
Yet another one blazes to life,
Taking the place of the last.
The fire everburning,
Humanity everchanging,
Mortals forever dying,
Demons forever chasing.
A rogue wave surges,
The fire finally put out,
Only tiny embers remain;
Destined to light the next fire,
The beginning of an end.

This poem uses symbolism and personification to animate humanity. Hope you enjoy! :)
