Who would care?
What if the world in front of me disappeared right now?
If I no longer lived on this earth the world would continue changing.
The sun would still rise and set, giving way to a beautiful moon.
The tides would still ebb and flow.
One measly life.
You couldn’t say if I disappeared right here and now anyone would care.
It wouldn’t change the world.
The earth would continue it’s orbit.
The world won’t stop for one measly life.
The beautiful moon would continue it’s orbit around us.
Oh that moon.
How I wish I were that moon.
How I wish someone would care if I vanished.
If I left, people wouldn’t notice.
Life would continue on as normal.
Even when someone dies we only mourn because we miss the service they provide.
I am nobody’s world.
No one would miss me.
If I were gone no one would be there to mourn me.
There would be two days of irregular activity but business as usual.
Only this town would care.
And even they, even the ones I hold dearest, would get over it.
Stuck in the past makes no room for the future.
If I died, who would care?
