Haven
You are my haven
Your mind, a fossil of ancient hymns
Your body, a myriad of colors
All shades of blue
Your fingers are strings
They pour melody into my void
Phosphenes fill the empty spaces in your murkey grey eyes
Hands, wrinkled and firm
Stories written in subtle lines and edges
Arms like an old willow tree, wilting yet strong
As you fell
I fell with you
Down
Down
Down
Into the hollow depths
We hovered for a brief moment
Having outrun time
Then we plunged even deeper
To worlds even stranger
What is life without you
Without release
Without solace
