Music's Power
Music so raw that it makes you shiver
It cuts you up, sliver by sliver
When you cry, the teardrops are big
The deeper you listen, the deeper you dig
Sometimes, it only takes the beginning of a song
To make you feel like everything that is wrong
Can suddenly, amazingly be right
And the light in your eyes seems more bright
Other times, the music hits too close to home
A personal experience we’d rather not again roam
Tears slip from our eyes without warning
We remember the way we had been mourning
But hearing those couple of amusingly silly songs
That playlist that only us ding-dongs
Could possibly listen to on repeat for hours
Makes us wonder of music’s powers
The melodies can sadden or soothe
It can wrinkle, or it can smooth
Music can be cursed or blessed
It can make you feel happy or depressed
Music so raw that it makes you shiver
It cuts you up, sliver by sliver
When you cry, the teardrops are big
The deeper you listen, the deeper you dig
