The Story Behind I Do
I do
A rush of happiness when the church doors open
Flower girls walk down the aisle, petals floating softly to the ground
The bride in white following them slowly
It was the best feeling ever
I do
They thought they were ready for this day
Being high school sweethearts, wishing for a happy ending in their story
Living under the same roof and growing old together
The future was bright for the happy couple
I do
A honeymoon to Colorado
Life couldn’t be better, standing on a mountain looking over the city
Holding hands and showing off their wedding rings
It couldn’t get better than this
I do
Everything was going as planned
Living together, sharing the same bed
But it wouldn’t last forever
Everything started going down hill
I do
The wrong people entered their lives
Spreading their germs, stealing from their happy lives
One after another entered their home
Their happy life began to tumble
I do
The smell of cigarettes took over the home
Other smells and drugs soon followed, the addiction spread
Loud yelling echos down the hallways
The future was a dimmed light
I do
The germs grew in numbers
They brought their drugs and awful smells, spreading them
Different women entered and exited when the wife was gone
It was too late to turn back
I do
The last night they slept in the same bed
The last goodbye spoken, then she was gone
His life deteriorated under his feet
It was all over
