Carry Me Up The Hill
Carry me up the hill
Above the valley
Breaking all the rules
That our parents once had
For the restrictions
Mean nothing
Against the power of love
Carry me up the hill
When I cried for a year
And no one listened
Except you
And I couldn’t carry myself
Because the weight
Was too strong
But we survived
Carry me up the hill
Where the flowers grow
And you can’t see the smoke
Billowing out of the factory
Killing the air
Day by day
Carry me up the hill
After our first fight
When I said
I hate you
But you were always there
carry me
Carry me up the hill
When my mother died
And words could not express
How sad I was
But the view could
And so could you
Carry me up the hill
When I learned
I had to measure
The rest of my life
On years that you could count
On your fingers
Carry me up the hill
When I am to weak
To carry myself
But you are too
And we will struggle
But make it there
Too see that view
Together
One last time
Carry me up the hill
When you are gone
And I am alone
Looking over the valley
And all I want
Is to be
With you
