I Heard Mommy Crying
I crept towards the stairs
'Cuz I needed a drink
But, you know, who really cares
Then I heard a noise
That could only be Mommy
I nearly tripped on some toys
But, you know, who really cares
I listened very carefully
Then I inched up the stairs
Mommy's sniffle could be heard,
When I went to bed
I had been assured
But now...
I heard Mommy crying
Maybe it's because
Her daddy is slowly dying
So I go back to bed
And dream of
Grandpa angels flying
