Hiraeth
She closed her eyes
And escaped to the worlds swimming inside her head
She opened her eyes and she was stuck
Back in a world that wouldn't believe in magic
That couldn't
She was stuck with that ache in her chest
To be back in her not-so-made-up world
So she closed her eyes and broke away
Back to the land of fairies,
And dragons,
And magic,
And princesses that don't need saving,
And Princes that aren't exactly charming,
But still, it was a land that almost always guaranteed happy endings
But when she opened her eyes she was back in their world
The one without fairies
Or dragons
Or magic
Although the girls still didn't need saving
And the boys aren't exactly charming
But it was a land that almost always guaranteed unhappy endings
So she kept her eyes open
And forgot the worlds that could never be hers
But she could never forget that feeling of being
Homesick for places she'd never been
And people she'd never met
