a day
It’s been a day.
A day that doesn’t seem like what it is.
And is anyway.
It’s been a day.
A day that drips into grey clouds and cold fingers.
Instead of warm hues.
It’s been a day.
A day that slowly injects each minute with lidocaine.
Feeling fades away.
It’s been a day.
A day that starts like any other, common, usual
But really isn’t.
It’s been a day.
A day that turns upbeat melodies to ballad harmonies.
Songbirds dying.
It’s been a day.
A day that blends sound together, all background noise.
No longer crisp tone.
It's been a day.
Even though every right decision was made. Even though every simple thought was thought. Even though nothing happened to cause it.
Even though—
It’s been a day.
It’s been a day.
A day that paints all worlds in what lies unspoken on the tongue.
Kept. Hidden.
It’s been a day.
A day that disappoints eyes and ears.
What’s wanted.
It’s been a day.
A day where rain falls because it’s wanted.
Not shunned.
It’s been a day.
A day where actions speak louder than words.
Words, instead, receive attention.
It’s been a day.
A day of drained, colorless living, and all the moon wants is to rise.
Be among the light.
It’s been a day.
A day where the moon has been ignored, until it’s time comes.
By the star’s side.
It’s been a day.
Yet, like all days,
It will come to an end.
