Simple Days
Waking up to patters of water on the window
And dressing with golden roses
Going and laughing with friends who aren’t friends who are friends now
Screaming at the rain getting in the coffee
Following a friend sprinting through the sprinkles
Almost saying hi with nothing but two looks
Desperately cuddling underneath a single umbrella
Hanging out with a cool aunt in a drizzly cottage
Pacing around because you never know where to sit
Falling asleep after reading a book about other lands
And wishing for things you can’t have
But dreaming about nothing but past events
With raining grey skies gently dripping at my window
And ska-dattling across a parking lot of black pavement
I am content
