The Music of Words
I held deep hatred
For the music of words
Never did I appreciate
Nor did I reciprocate
Someone’s feelings
I was always freezing
Cold and seizing
To take in the pain
To pull in the strain
What the writer felt
How emotions would melt
In the few of instruments
Made no logical sense
A paper to hold
All that made one’s heart bold
A pen to note
Trembling as it quote
For whose heart bled
With pain heavier than lead
Bitterly-sweet
Tingling tears on my cheek
Pieces of my heart separate
In gratitude and in peace
In the sad path of fate
I walk forward and wait
For what is to come
For who I am to become

This piece washed over me with a wave of inspiration and reflection. Just as I've said in the poem, I didn't understand the music of the literary art. I felt I needed to let loose of my weakness, and surprisingly discovered what I could've never foreseen-my talent was hidden there all along.
