Four Seasons
Gaping through curtainless windows,
the morning light lifts my soul to wake.
I look through transparent blocks and see a day of awaiting wonders.
The leaves that fall a thousand times plague the dying grass,
but this is not death. It is rebirth.
Snow, white glistening flakes, yet compact and hard...
Oh the hours I've spent with snow, shoveling, throwing, and building.
But like the dying grass, snow must disappear, to come back next year.
The sun says “no more, for April is coming” and day by day, the snow melts,
but I am not sad. Spring is coming with times of adventure blossoming.
Spring: the rejuvenating season of the 12 month year,
though short, it brings life and hope.
The grass of old grows anew, while birds sing and speak delight.
Though spring does not last and soon it will be in the past,
plants will grow higher and higher in summer warm glow.
Summer is here and the sunshine is abundant,
time to cheer because school is out.
Sparkling lakes welcome visitors from near and far.
But vacation does not last forever,
for fall is around the corner and the leaves begin to tremble.
