Move on?
What defines who you are
Well, it’s a simple choice
Stay the way you are
Or be the one with a voice
All around the survivors scream
Who is strong and who is weak
Anyone who screams wants to be heard
Maybe that’s their way to be cured
You can hold onto something for years and years
Or you can simply let loose your tears
Maybe you choose to look back
from over your shoulder
And keep eyes forward
But don’t ignore the pain you’ve stored
Less it burst from you
Yes wounds are hard to heal
And the pain will always stay
But use that pain as a reminder
For there is always a way

The past doesn’t define you. You can use a traumatic experience to face future problems. Or you can simply wallow in it.
