When?
Emeralds fall from the branches above.
I can hear you…
You do not speak, but you tread
Across the fallen emeralds.
And I hear them break and crack.
I try to avoid the emeralds Beneath my feet.
Even the shards.
Even though they are shattered,
They are still emeralds.
I wonder how long the path prolongs…
Will it end with one more step?
Will it end in 4 million miles?
…
Or has it already ended?
Is there a way to tell?
I look to my feet.
The emerald shards are stuck in my feet.
And a crimson tattoo attaches itself to them.
And it is then I realize,
With green emeralds reflecting in my eyes.
That the path will end
when you decide for it to end.
