Moving On
Where was I when you were moving on?
Left in the dust
Behind all that you have thought as gone
I’m left to lie and rust.
Your new self is worse than last
You think not of people who are less
You won’t be able to raise your mast
You move on just because
Because of what?
Because you changed?
Because there is a new fuel in your veins?
You’re moving on because you’re terrified to see
Scared of your past
Scared of being left behind
Like you willfully did to me
I devoted my life to get here
I dumped my friends to get here
I worked my socks off to get here
And now I see what is waiting for me
A cloud of dust
Covering my life
But I must
Bring to life a new sight...
