time- the bitcoin of high school students
Time has become my most valuable resource, more then dollars or points or pages- I just need more of it
More when my schedule can slot together neatly with someone else’s
(or at least have some overlap)
more so that my phone calls aren’t rushed one hand pressed
against my left ear so I can hear over the cacophony of the bus
more so I can stitch the relationships that are ripping at the seams
back
together
neatly, one facetime call and chai latte at a time
More is eight hours of sleep and not scoffing when someone says they stayed up until midnight working on homework
More is weekends, real ones, not two and a half days to catch up stuffed with essays and laundry and it always being your turn to exercise the dogs
More is taking ten minutes to shower after practice without feeling like I'm wasting time if I'm not writing a to-do list in my head while I rinse my hair out
More is rest
At least some.
