Where I'm From
I’m from a house where I moved next to my old house,
where kids scream, while throwing tancherums,
I’m from a place where we cannot talk without interruption.
SURVIVOR...
I’m from a hospital with a diagnosis,
a rare, incurable genetic disorder that is in my DNA.
A disorder that lives with me, becomes who I am.
UNIQUE...
I’m the youngest from a family of seven,
fighting for food, attention and love.
Three half siblings and one full, but I love equally.
FAMILY…
I’m from an inside space where I don’t like body,
questioning what people are saying in their minds about me.
Having hair colors to define my mood.
INSECURE...
I’m from a broken life losing a cousin at the age of thirteen,
sadness, denial, and death.
Missing him wishing to turn back time.
UNPREDICTABLE...
I’m from a house with memories filling my brain.
tears, laughter and love.
I’m from a house where I moved next to my house.
