Where I am From
I am from a place of family, step after step becomes another memory.
I am from a family that is there like a brace
and will support me through any brick wall.
I am from a land where tough times occuring as often as the sun sets
where certain people make threats.
Anything that can and will happen becomes a reality.
I am from a place with lazy roads filled with angry cars
next to the pristine lakes and packed bars,
trails, forests, and shops surrounding the area.
I am from a place of sunshine and laughter.
Where you feel like flying a kite as high as the moon.
I am from a place that makes me want to listen to the bee’s buzz
or the birds chirping at every moment,
or watch the tree’s feathers flock in the wind.
I derive from a place of silent nights and filled highways.
Staying up admiring the creatures of the dark
When I awake, I reminisce the times I spent with my older brother.
The memories of driving in the brisk afternoon air, listening to our favorite country songs.
