Butterflies
Inside my stomach live countless butterflies.
Without you they sleep,
Around you they rise.
They fuel my heart to leap.
Small butterflies require energy to keep up,
That’s why my heart uncontrollably races.
Large butterflies make my heart stop,
That’s why it’s hard to catch my breath and maintain consistent paces.
Black and white wings are a timeless romantic canvass I️ want to see.
Colorful wings create the beautiful dreams I️ wish were my reality.
Perching upon my heart, I️ skip a beat.
Graceful flutters are simple and sweet.
