Remembering The Night
I remember the dark and painfully beautiful sky.
The sense of wonder and mysticism.
I remember the smell of high-end perfume and innocence.
I remember the looks of awe,
Everything had lead to this.
I remember the starring.
The questioning.
The “are you okay?”’s and the
“Is everything fine?”’s.
I remember vaguely,
The flashes and blurs.
The loud and heavy music.
The tables
The dancing
The laughing
The joy
The excitement, the nervousness.
The feeling of pleasure and displeasure.
Being scared yet calm.
Everything seemed so perfect
So imperfect.
I remember the faces
The expressions,
The taste in my mouth: bitter and sweet
confusion everywhere.
A night had never been so special. So memorable.
Unforgettable.
It had been everything I had been waiting for
everything we had been waiting for.
I remember everything
yet nothing at all.
