The pain of parting is nothing to the joy of meeting again- Charles Dickens

Balancing on a tight rope

No not to catch me below

At one end, the darkness

At the other, a bright light

I am pulled in by the darkness

And so I walk the tight rope

Little did I know

Of the horrors ahead

Kept in the dark

Lies and deceptions

Grabbed and taken

Screaming into a void of black

Who is there? I am never to see

Hands over my mouth

Trapping the accusations

Trapping the only truth

The light should be better, right?

The truth and nothing but the truth

But the truth doesn't always keep you safe

They still come for me

I see the death now

There is no innocence

The children are scared to leave their house

The truth set me free but it was a freedom I had feared

I escape both sides

Running back to the tightrope

Staring at the nettles floor

The decision to make

The worlds between

No safe way down

I couldn't survive either worlds

I couldn't survive the jump

Bring me back to the world of gray areas

Bring me back to the center

In costumes and fantasies I needed balance

But I think I just lost it

This piece is about finding the correct balance in life. Sometimes we want nothing but the truth can be scary.
