Blind
You say I'm sweet, but I think of all the bitter tears spilled, and I don't feel sweet at all.
You say I'm pretty, but I think of the grotesque thoughts in my head, and I don't feel pretty at all.
You say I'm funny, but I think of all the strained smiles, and I don't feel funny at all.
You say I'm brave, but I think of all the words I am too scared to say, and I don't feel brave at all.
You say I'm smart, but I think of all the stupid mistakes I've made, and I don't feel smart at all.
So clearly, without warring renditions, one is not the truth.
But which one of us is blind?
