No Control
It started off as a mist
A slight blurriness.
Then it thickened
And began to swirl.
Fog. Dark. All around me.
Enveloping me
Not able to breathe.
I freeze. Can’t move.
It swirls into every crevice
Drifts into all available space.
Soon it has surrounded me
Has taken my control from me.
But I have no white flag.
I can’t surrender.
But I want to.
Oh, how I want to.
Anxiety.
