This Person That She Is
She turns to face the mirror
The person that she is
She turns to face her reflection
And that alone brings tears
What she sees standing there
Is a girl who's all alone
With broken dreams, crushed hopes
And a shattered soul
She sees the face she finds so ugly
The nose that is too big
Her eyes that are too close together
Her head that needs a wig
She looks at heart that's torn apart
The faults of unrequited love
Love always, always hurts
Don't know why, but it does
She sees the mess that she is making
She sees the risk that she is taking
She sees her heart that's always breaking
She sees her fragile body shaking
She sees her ripped up interior
What has she done to herself?
She sees her scarred exterior
She sees that she needs help
She looks in the mirror
At everything she is
She sees a girl wanting nothing but
Love
She peers into her own tired eyes
She sees stress and depresson
Weighing her down
And the hurt, it follows her around
She turns away from the mirror
This person that she is
She wishes so desperately that
She'll see another girl next year
