Cat-erine the Great
She was born to royalty, a Russian Blue
Becoming more beautiful as she grew
Even as a kitten, so regal and kind
A princess and in every way refined
But Cat wanted more than just this life
As she was meant to be only a wife
She wanted power, she wanted to lead
The people would want a ruler sans greed
Difficulties would need to be faced
Often the courts and meetings she graced
The council could tell Cat was not just a girl
In the oyster of government, she was the pearl
Cat-erine the Great is no exaggeration
Greatness was that which she brought to the nation
Story became legend, but it is true history
That Cat-erine brought honor to the Russian family

This was inspired by Russian history and my neighbors cat, who looks strikingly like Catherine II.
