If Not for Love

If not for love, the moon would simply brighten up the skies,
It wouldn't glow and sparkle in that special someone's eyes.
Soft music wouldn't move us, nor would candlelight inspire,
A tender kiss goodnight would not be filled with sweet desire.
There'd be no longing glances and no special hand to hold.
Or the kind of understanding lover's value more than gold.
We'd never know the miracle our hearts are dreaming of.
The world would be a very different place if not for LOVE.
