One day they told me
Write us a song
I said wait a second
This won't take long
So I sat down
I started to write
Through all the day
And all of the night
Through all my dreams
I saw so much beauty
Filled with our honor
And our code of duty
I saw how we lived
How we hoped for love
And how we were granted
Joy from above
I saw how our hearts filled
Just to see light
And how we all struggled
To make it through the night
Then when I finished
Writing it down
I gave it to them
So they could look around
We have so much love
Hidden inside
I showed them my poem
To show them the light
