Social Criticism
She was strong
And she knew what she wanted
She loved her family and friends
She loved going on adventurers
She worked hard and saved her money
He told her what to wear
She didn’t feel good in her body
He told her what to eat
She stopped eating
He told her to give up
She quit her job
He told her not to listen to her friends
She was lonely
He took her she couldn’t go anywhere
She stayed at home
People told her he just “cared” about her
They told her it was normal in a relations
Pays so much attention to her
She was scared of him
He told her all she needed was him
But he wasn’t there for her
She was still strong
But she didn’t know she was being
Abused.

hello my name is Keona and I live, in Indiana, I wrote this poem because every day there is a new story about domestic abuse. it is a teenager or someone in their thirties. it doesn't matter the gender or age no one devices to be abused in their own home.
